A porcelain-packaged processor resting on a near-black ground. Its glazed top carries eight sepia instrument glyphs and a small brass plaque; a single amber status light is lit. Warm light falls off to black at every edge.

PAIchip

Preservative AI, in silicon.

PAIchip is a proposed processor whose architecture is the methodology. A computer built, at the level of its circuits, to be physically incapable of unjustified certainty about its own outputs.

It is a research proposal, not a shipping product. The paper comes first; the fabrication comes after.

What is wired in

  • The five refusals — wired as gate circuits.
  • The Trickster self-audit — a second engine that audits every output before it leaves the die.
  • Newsroom in a drawer — a local corpus, solar-operable, openable and inspectable.
  • Open mask set — CC BY-SA / open hardware; the chip is its own witness.
A top-down view of the silicon die, laid out like a sepia and brass walled-city floor plan on a near-black field: functional blocks read as districts and streets.

The floor planThe die’s area declares what the chip values.

The chip nested in felt inside an open wooden drawer, its amber light glowing under a small brass lamp, soft window light on the wood.

Newsroom in a drawerA local corpus, solar-operable, openable by any reading room.
